Fucidin

Fucidin^® cream 
Fusidic acid 20 mg 

Composition 
Each gram contains: Fusidic acid 20 mg.

Pharmacology
Fusidic acid inhibits protein synthesis in gram-positive bacteria especially Staphylococcus aureus.

Indications
Fucidin^® cream is indicated for treatment of skin infections caused by staphylococci or other Fucidin^®-sensitive organisms, for example: Impetigo Contagiosa, superficial folicullitis, Infected wounds, Sycosis barbae, Carbuncles, Hidradenitis axillaries, abscesses, Paronychia and Erythrasma.

Dosage And Administration
Fucidin^® cream is applied to the affected area 2-3 times daily, generally for a period of 7 days, and can be used even with or without plaster.

Side-Effects
Skin rash have been reported.

Contra Indication
Patients proven to have hypersensitivity towards one of the ingredients in Fucidin^®. Infection caused by organisms which is not susceptible to Fucidin^® especially Pseudomonas Aeroginosa.
