Pharmacology
Ambroxol has a secretolytic properties, stimulates secretion thick and sticky secret from the respiratory tract.
Indications
As a secretolytic at acute and chronic disorders of the respiratory tract, particularly in exacerbation chronic bronchitis, asthmatic bronchitis and bronchial asthma.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to Ambroxol.
Warnings and precautions
During pregnancy and lactation ambroxol can be used only if necessary, and the use of ambroxol in such cases still needs more observations.
Ambroxol shouldn't be used for a long term therapy without any physician consultation. In several renal insufficiency cases, the accumulation of the metabolite of ambroxol in the liver occurred.
Adverse reactions
- Intolerant reaction after administration of ambroxol has been rarely reported.
- Mild gastrointestinal side effects have been reported in a few patients.
- Allergic reactions can be occurred in a few cases and such allergic patients also indicated allergy reactions with other drugs. Such reaction that can be found on skin, facial swelling, dyspnoea, fever.
- There have been no report on the ability to drive and operate machines.
Dosage and administration

| Children 6 - 12 years | : | ½, tablet 2 - 3 times daily |
| The tablets should be taken after meals with liquid. | ||

| Adults and children over 12 years | : | 5 mL 2 - 3 times daily |
| Children 6 - 12 years | : | 2.5 mL 2 - 3 times daily |

| 6-12 years | : | 5 mL 2 -3 times daily |
| 2 - 6 years | : | 2.5 mL 3 times daily |
| Under 2 years | : | 2.5 mL 2 times daily |
Drug interactions
Administration with antibiotics (Amoxiciilin, Cefuroxime, Erythromycin, Doxicicline) caused increasing the penetration of antibiotics in lung.
Overdosage
Never have been reported, suppose that occurred give symptomatic therapy.
